Goalkeeping Camps

Goalkeeper training will be offered at all Wolfpack Boys Soccer Camps.  Goalkeepers will be taught the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the position. Players will receive goalkeeper specific training and have the opportunity to play in small sided games. This allows goalkeepers the opportunity to apply learned skills in game like situations. It also allows the staff to coach the goalkeeper in a game situation. This ensures that the goalkeeper improves their technical skills and also decision making. Please contact Steven at steven_cox@ncsu.edu or 919-675-7340 with any questions.

Topics that will be covered at each Camp:

Footwork
Positioning
Shot Stopping (When to Catch or Parry)
Distribution (Feet and Hands)
Crosses/High balls
Collapsing/Diving
1 v 1 Situations (breakaways)

Two Camp Options

Elite Goalkeeper Camp
9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
For all U9-U14 players

Beginner Day Camp
9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday and Tuesday
For players U9-U14 who register for the field player Full Day or Elite camp, but also want some basic goalkeeper training. The player will train as a goalkeeper for the first two mornings and will participate with the field players during all other times of the camp. This is a great way to gain an introduction to the goalkeeper position and a great option for players who play both goalkeeper and on the field and have not yet committed fully to either one.
Cost: $50 (In addition to the cost of the field player camp fees) Includes: 6 Hours of Instruction
Registration: Register for the field player camp of your choice through the Wolfpack Boys Soccer Camp website. In the checkout section, select the “Beginner Goalkeeping Camp” option which will add the $50 to your total along with the field player camp.
